    Work in Progress – Evaluation of the ORET Programme : Investing in Public Infrastructure in Developing Countries

    The Development Related Export Transactions program (ORET) is a subsidy facility. It has addressed important obstacles for development by co-financing the construction and rehabilitation of public infrastructure in developing countries. ORET has evolved from a programme of mere delivery of capital goods to a programme offering comprehensive infrastructure service packages that were also financially attractive for recipient governments.

    Navigating a sea of interests : policy evaluation of Dutch foreign human rights policy 2008-2013

    The Netherlands is an important player in the field of human rights in multilateral forums and in the framework of the EU. Applying a variety of instruments, the Netherlands has contributed to the promotion of human rights. Results include the adoption of UN resolutions and EU Council decisions. A critical note can be made with regard to the degree of coherence between foreign human rights policy and economic policy.

    Ex-post Evaluation Report on the Project for Upgrading Jaffna Technical College as a College of Technology - Sri Lanka

    The project was not able to meet the student enrollment or graduation rates. However, 379 students were educated and trained in the four departments of the Jaffna College of Technology in 2013, with another 31 students are expected to graduate from the ICT Department in 2014. Therefore, the project was evaluated as being somewhat effective.

    Sri Lanka Road Rehabilitation Project

    The project was funded by the EDCF in August 1996 and was expected to contribute to Sri Lanka’s social and economic development by strengthening its infrastructure. In addition, it was believed to improve the economic cooperation and mutual prosperity of both Sri Lanka and Korea. Thus, funding the project was considered relevant and appropriate in terms of the EDCF’s purposes and loan policy.

    Evaluation Study of Long-Term Development Co-operation between Sri Lanka and Sweden

    This evaluation report provides a critical overview of 53 years of development co-operation between Sweden and Sri Lanka, from 1958 to 2010. The report highlights a few areas, where, according to the evaluators, Sweden has contributed to solving societal problems and creating results in poor people’s lives in Sri Lanka.
