    Evaluation of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD)

    This evaluation of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) corporate programme performance from 2012-2015 builds on previous assessments, including the Mid-Term Evaluation and the Triennial Review. The evaluation looks at ensuring accountability and learning from DFID political governance portfolio interventions. The study seeks to learn lessons to support future WFD programming and political governance programming by DFID.

    Cross Cutting Evaluation of DFID’s Approach to Remote Management in Somalia and North-East Kenya

    This evaluation finds that remote programme management (RPM) has become a normal programme management approach in the environments addressed in this evaluation. But, information management and dissemination practices are inconsistent across RPM approaches within DFID. The evaluation highlights the opportunity for DFID to dedicate specific resources to capture RPM best practice and lessons as they emerge in its Kenya/Somalia portfolio.

    Adaptation Learning Program (ALP)

    The Adaptation Learning Program facilitates community-based adaptation in a selection of climate-vulnerable communities in four countries. The purpose of this final evaluation is to provide qualitative and quantitative evidence of program outcomes against the ALP logframe; and to assess the quality and value of ALP approaches to promote CBA through learning and influence at all levels of the program.

    Country Assistance Evaluation of Kenya

    Japan has provided ODA to Kenya through various schemes. However, the recognition of Japan’s ODA to Kenyan citizens is not sufficient. In order to improve this situation, the Government of Japan needs to forge a public relations strategy that clearly appeals to the Kenyan society based on the principles of Japan’s contribution to Kenya’s important development agendas.

    Finland’s Development Cooperation with Kenya in 2007-2013

    Kenya is one of Finland’s long-term partner countries. This evaluation analyses this relationship as it unfolded in 2007–2013, and offers recommendations that reflect the evolution of development cooperation circumstances and policies. Finnish cooperation has been channelled to three main sectors: governance, rural development/agriculture, and natural resources management, with total annual disbursements of approximately €10 million.

    Final Evaluation of CSO's Kenya Engagement

    The Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations (CSO) made significant and positive contributions in its coordination and reporting role. CSO’s coordination role in Nairobi was one of its most effective functions. CSO provided critical surge support, contributed positively to inter-agency relations, set up the Command Center for election results, and coordinated International Observer Missions.

    Evaluation of Africa Democracy Strengthening Programme – Phase II

    The evaluation found that the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) is delivering the Africa Democracy Strengthening programme effectively and that the programme represents a good return on DFID’s investment of funds. The programme has performed well against logframe1 targets and has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of EISA.
