This review of Australia’s rural development assistance found that the lives of large numbers of poor rural people had been improved as a result of Australian interventions. Australian aid has helped poor rural women and men access more value from new markets for example.

Australian aid to the Philippines: Mid-term evaluation of the Australia–Philippines Development Assistance Strategy
The evaluation found that the Australian aid program to the Philippines had achieved a range of results. AusAID’s contribution was particularly notable in basic education while achievements under the economic growth pillar were found to be modest.

Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative in Indonesia - Management Response to the Independent Evaluation
Many of the recommendations in the report were taken into account in the design process for Phase 2, including what activities should be supported. The new design has clear objectives and rationale and emphasises strong engagement with the Government of Indonesia.
