Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in New York on 22 to 26 September 2019, to attend the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
While in New York, the Secretary-General spoke at a business panel at the opening ceremony of Climate Week NYC 2019 entitled, What must business do today. He spoke at the Nature-Based Solutions Momentum High-level Event, delivered opening remarks at an OECD co-hosted side-event Placing Well-being at the Heart of Climate Policy, as well as at the High-level roundtable on the key messages from the forthcoming OECD report Aligning Development Co-operation with the Paris Agreement.
Mr. Angel Gurría delivered a speech at a panel discussion and reception on Tax Inspectors without Borders, and at a High-Level side event regarding the governance for the SDGs: Learning from country experiences and defining an agenda for the future and the launch of the Global Hub on the Governance for the SDGs. He also spoke at the event on Ending Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in Aid and Humanitarian Sectors.
The Secretary-General held several bilateral meetings with high level officials from the United Nations and Heads of States who were attending the UNGA.
