Radhanath Housden

Mr Radhanath Housden heads the AEOI Unit of the Global Forum, which is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the automatic exchange of information between tax authorities to tackle tax evasion. This includes the Standard for Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information in Tax Matters (commonly referred to as the Common Reporting Standard), developed in 2014, and the Crypto Asset Reporting Framework, developed in 2023. The related functions include: designing and implementing effective commitment, monitoring and peer review processes; managing assessment teams that carry out the reviews of the legal frameworks in place and the effectiveness of their implementation in practice; and providing associated support to governments. Mr Housden joined the Global Forum in 2015.

Before joining the Global Forum, Mr Housden worked as senior policy advisor in the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration of the OECD, advising on and facilitating international agreement on issues of tax transparency and the automatic exchange of financial information between governments.

Between 2010 and 2014, Mr Housden worked in a variety of roles at HM Treasury in the United Kingdom, culminating as Head of Exchange of Information and Surveillance in the Business and International Tax Directorate, after roles in environmental tax and anti-tax avoidance strategy. Prior to that he worked at the accountancy and business advisory firm BDO (UK), where he was a corporate and personal tax adviser.

Mr Housden holds a 1st Class Honours degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Bath.
