    The Global Forum Secretariat supported the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) in organising a seminar to the financial sector on the technical aspects of the Common Reporting Standard on 26 June 2024. The event brough together 55 compliance officers from the Maldives' banking and insurance sectors.

    Global Forum Secretariat launches new toolkit to support voluntary compliance as international co-operation on tax transparency gathers pace

    Launched on 24 May 2024 in a virtual event attended by 138 delegates representing nearly 60 jurisdictions, the Voluntary Disclosure Programme Toolkit: A Model Law and Guidance was developed by the Global Forum Secretariat and is available to tax administrations on demand. The toolkit is designed to assist jurisdictions wishing to use the pre-AEOI-exchanges window of opportunity to encourage voluntary compliance.

    Global Forum Secretariat helps Tanzania prepare for peer review on transparency and exchange of information on request

    In preparation of Tanzania’s second phase peer review on transparency and exchange of information on request (EOIR), the Global Forum Secretariat organised a mock on-site visit from 22 to 26 April 2024. The exercise aimed to prepare local authorities and stakeholders for the actual onsite visit, to be carried out by a Global Forum assessment team as part of the second phase of Tanzania’s EOIR peer review.
