Experts group on risk and resilience, OECD, Paris, 18-20 January 2016

 

‌‌The OECD hosted from 18 to 20 January the 5th Experts Group Meeting on Risk and Resilience focusing on integrating and operationalising resilience in global frameworks. The event was opened by OECD Development Co-operation Directorate Acting Director Mario Pezzini. On the first day, experts focused on resilience and the Agenda 2030, and more particularly on its objective of “Leaving no-one behind”. The cost of dealing with humanitarian crises is rising exponentially and has increased 660% in the last 15 years. How to build resilience in fragile and conflict affected states? How to operationalise resilience in the COP21 agreement? Experts made a series of recommendations aimed at ensuring coherence and common approaches across various global frameworks. On the second day, participants focused on analytical tools and approaches to support resilience integration. The Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC/OECD) presented some lessons learned from the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR) – Sahel and West Africa. The SWAC Secretariat is currently participating in the elaboration of a resilience measurement tool that aims to assess the results and impacts of the Alliance. > SWAC presentation | OECD work on risk and resilience
