17 Mar 2021 - Addressing measurement challenges is crucial if economies are to develop sound policies to navigate out of the current crisis. Certain challenges in productivity measurement – for example, the measurement of the non-observed economy, non-observed employment, and the self-employed – are more severe in many APO economies, where these phenomena are more prevalent. The first report of the APO and OECD explores current practices and challenges in productivity measurement and provides recommendations to National Productivity Organisations (NPOs), National Statistics Offices (NSOs) and other agencies involved in the compilation and analysis of productivity statistics in APO member economies to improve measurement and cross-country comparability. |
