Official visit of the Secretary-General to Slovenia (Ljubljana, 1 June 2010)

 

Further to the invitation  by OECD countries for Slovenia to become a member of the Organisation on 10 May 2010, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría attended the signing of the accession agreement (read his speech) in the presence of Prime Minister Borut Pahor and Minister without Portfolio Responsible for Development and European Affairs Mitja Gaspari (read his speech).

 

During his official visit, he also met with:

  • Dr. Danilo Türk, President of the Republic of Slovenia
  • Dr. Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik, Rector of the University of Ljubljana

At the University of Ljubljana, the Secretary-General also delivered a speech on the recovery of the global economy, the challenges ahead and the role of the OECD.
