OECD International Migration Outlook 2021 to be published Thursday 28 October

 

21/10/2021 - The International Migration Outlook 2021 will be published at 10.00 a.m. Paris time/08.00 a.m. GMT on Thursday 28 October.

The 2021 edition of the annual publication analyses recent developments in migration movements and policies, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also analyses the recent changes in migration policies, including the implications of the execution of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement, as well as changes in policies that support the integration of immigrants and their children, including anti-discrimination policies and digitalisation of integration services. The report also includes new estimates of the fiscal impact of immigrants and the causes and consequences of the residential segregation of immigrants.   

OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, together with European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, and OECD Director for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, Stefano Scarpetta, will present the Outlook’s findings in an online press conference at 10.00 a.m. Paris time/08.00 GMT. The press conference will be in English, with French interpretation.

Journalists must register to participate via Zoom.

The presentation will also be webcast live, without registration.

An embargoed briefing for journalists in Japan will take place the same day with Jean-Christophe Dumont, head of the OECD’s International Migration division, at 15.00 p.m. Tokyo time/06.00 a.m. GMT. Register.

A German language briefing focusing on the situation in German speaking countries will take place the same day with Thomas Liebig, senior migration expert in the OECD’s International Migration division, at 11.00 a.m. Berlin time / 09.00 GMT. Register.
