The impact of COVID-19

Special edition of Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs: An OECD Scoreboard was launched at the EU SME Assembly, on 17 November 2020, during a panel discussing the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on SMEs and the way forward. This report highlights the impacts of COVID-19 on SME access to finance and government policy responses. Challenges ahead include avoiding SME over-indebtedness, fostering a diverse range of financing instruments, and using further support to stimulate business creation and strengthen SME resilience.
