Since the proclamation of independence in 1991, Moldova has been in a phase of transition, which brings about significant economic restructuring and social changes. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Moldova, youth aged between 15-24 accounted for 18.8% of the total population[1] in 2004 – this generation has great potential to positively contribute to the development and self-determination of the country, and the youth.
