OECD Projects on Fighting Bid Rigging in Public Procurement - Peru and Brazil

Peru and Brazil have both partenered with the OECD to assess their public procurement practices. While the Peruvian project will focus on the health sector, more particularly on procurement practices of EsSalud (the national social security agency), Brazil's will review the procurement system at the federal level.

OECD Competition Assessment reviews: Brazil

Brazil’s competition authority (CADE) has invited the OECD to assess laws and regulations in the sectors of ports and civil aviation. An assessment report was launched on 27 September 2022 with recommendations to improve competition in these sectors. More about project: here.

 

OECD-INDECOPI launch new Competition Regional Centre for Latin America 

20 November 2019 - OECD and INDECOPI launch new regional centre to provide capacity building assistance and policy advice for competition officials in Latin America. Activities will kick off with a merger workshop and an official launch event in Lima in presence of Peru's president Mr Martín Vizcarra Cornejo. Read the press release. More about the centre.

 

Fighting bid rigging in the procurement of public works in Argentina

19 November 2019 - The OECD and Argentina's Competition Authority have partnered to review Argentina's procurement practices in the public works sector. This report presents the main findings and provides recommendations to design competitive procurement and fight bid rigging in accordance with international good practicesAccess the report. 

COUNTRY REVIEWS

The Inter-American Development Bank and the OECD have collaborated on a series of reviews of competition law and policy regimes in Latin America since 2003. Most of these reviews were performed during the meetings of the Latin American Competition Forum which are held every year in a different country in Latin America and the Caribbean.
