This seminar focused on the connection between the domestic tax investigation, the information gathering framework and the international infrastructure for exchange of information (EOI). 40 participants representing 7 west African countries (Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Togo) attended the seminar. Participants from Nigeria represented both the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Federated States Revenue Boards.

Opening the seminar, Mr. Tunde Fowler the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria FIRS said that "the seminar will improve the knowledge of participants on EOI and enhance the implementation of EOI standards by countries which are at an advanced stage." He invited west African countries that have not started the EOI implementation to take step to do so.
