The OECD Survey on Social and Emotional Skills is an international survey that identifies and assesses the conditions and practices that foster or hinder the development of social and emotional skills for 10- and 15-year-old students.

NEW: Global launch of the report Social and Emotional Skills for Better Lives

We invite you to the conference “Empowering the New Generation”, which will mark the global launch of the report Social and Emotional Skills for Better Lives by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The conference is organised in collaboration with the Tsotsorkov Foundation.

April 26, 2024, 10:30am-3:30pm CET / 11:30am-4:30pm Bulgaria

Join Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the OECD, several ministers of education and policy makers from Bulgaria and other countries participating in the 2023 Survey on Social and Emotional Skills (SSES), who will discuss the findings from the survey, covering 23 sites across 21 countries.

The event is designed to facilitate further exchanges among policy makers, top international leading experts, educational practitioners, representatives from philanthropic organisations and the business sector. It will provide an opportunity to discuss the key findings of the report and how to translate them into policy and practice within classrooms and schools.

The event is free, requiring registration for your online attendance.

Join SSES Round 3

In round 3, the SSES will continue to explore the social and emotional skills of school-aged students through an equity lens, along with the factors that promote or hinder these skills, and their relationships to key life outcomes, including academic achievement, job outlook, health and well-being.

In this round, the survey considers new topics of interest:

  1. The well-informed, responsible, and safe use of AI, social media, and digital technologies
  2. Attitudes of life-long learning and learning to learn
  3. Civic and community engagement, and environmental responsibility
  4. The social and emotional skills and knowledge of teachers

SSES Round 3 uses a more innovative approach to measuring skills and provides new optional support for policy and practice implementation.
