Considering curricula

The Future of Education and Skills 2030 also focuses on curricula – both redesigning and implementing curricula to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Through an international curriculum analysis, participating countries reflect on their own practices and learn from the experiences of others.

Curriculum design

The Future of Education and Skills 2030 reports on curriculum redesign address six common policy issues:

1. What students learn matters: towards a 21st century curriculum

2. Curriculum overload: A way forward

3. Equity through curriculum innovations

4. Curriculum flexibility and autonomy

5. Values and the curriculum

6. An ecosystem approach to curriculum redesign and implementation

These report use existing research, results from the Policy Questionnaire on Curriculum Redesign (PQC) and the Curriculum Content Mapping (CCM) document analysis.

Curriculum implementation

How can countries best implement a future-oriented, redesigned curriculum, ensuring the quality of students' learning and well-being?

In this phase, which focuses on teachers, the project will develop a teaching framework and identify the competencies - including knowledge, skills, attitudes and values - essential for teachers to acquire.
