    Evaluation of the EU Support to Environment and Climate Change in Third Countries (2007-2013) - Main report

    The support has been relevant at country, regional and global levels, and has paved the way for increased prioritization of environment and climate change in current programming. The combination of thematic and geographic instruments has been reasonably effective in reaching the overarching policy goals. Mainstreaming has been more effective than in earlier periods, but there is still much improvement that can be made.

    Renewable energy – Policy review on the Dutch contribution to renewable energy and development 2004-2014

    At international level, renewable energy is increasingly seen as important for climate and for the availability of energy for domestic use. Thus there is a need for the Netherlands to have a clear vision on its renewable energy and development policy. Maintaining and further developing Dutch expertise and experience in this field is essential if the Netherlands intends to continue influencing the policy of inter/national organisations.

    Access to Energy in Rwanda: Impact evaluation of activities supported by the Dutch Promoting Renewable Energy Programme

    The Promoting Renewable Energy Programme was launched to promote access to of renewable energy in developing countries and to mitigate the negative effects of the use of energy on the climate. This report focuses on a project aimed at strengthening the energy authority in Rwanda. The renewable energy interventions were relevant to the objectives of both the Government of Rwanda and the Promoting Renewable Energy Programme.

    Access to energy in Rwanda - Newsletter

    Rwanda’s economic recovery goes hand-in-hand with a strong growth in demand for energy. The Government of Rwanda is determined to develop the energy sector at a high pace, with emphasis on the electrification of the country. In 2008, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the Promoting Renewable Energy Programme (PREP). Rwanda was among the countries most supported by PREP resources.

    Ex-post evaluation report on the project for Modernization of the Traffic Management System in Erbil

    This project was conducted with an aim to modernize the driver's licensing system with the introduction of an advanced traffic management system by the Kurdistan Regional Government. The project is deemed to have been "very relevant" as it was consistent with the development strategies of the recipient country such as reducing corruption, unlawful acts traffic accidents and modernizing the system.

    Notre aide au développement est-elle verte? Evaluation thématique de la coopération belge en matière d’environnement

    Cette évaluation couvre l'APD belge sur 2002-2012, période du premier papier sur la stratégie environnementale. L'évaluation conclut que la prise en compte de l’environnement par les services de développement de la coopération belge donne des résultats positifs, mais non quantifiables. La pression sur l'environnement des activités de coopération a été réduite et les conditions d'une gestion durable de l'environnement ont été améliorées.
