Workshop on Vertical Mergers and Vertical Restraints

25 February 2020  OECD Conference Centre, Paris

Agenda

Concerns about vertical mergers and vertical restraints have occupied an increasing amount of competition authority attention in recent years, particularly in digital sectors. In both types of cases, authorities face several challenges when conducting an effects-based analysis that takes into account the risk of competitive harms as well as potential efficiency effects.

On 25 February 2020 the OECD held a one-day workshop in Paris to explore these challenges. The workshop allowed more than 60 participants from competition authorities from 58 delegations to share their experiences and discuss with counterparts potential legal and analytical strategies for dealing with vertical mergers and restraints.
