The fourth LAC (Latin American and Caribbean) Tax Policy Forum took place on 3-4 July in Mexico City. Building on the dialogue launched in Panama in 2010, continued in Colombia in 2012 and in , the 2014 Mexico Forum addressed the following issues:
- the political economy of tax reform: drivers and constraints of the political process in substantive tax reforms – including examples of failed and successful reforms ;
- “green” taxation, sharing OECD best practices and analytical work and looking at particular initiatives in Ecuador, Mexico and Buenos Aires;
- best practices in raising revenue from natural resources, with contributions from ECLAC and the World Bank, among others; and
- the role of fiscal policy in reducing inequality, with an enlightening discussion on the policy tools to close the social inequality gap.

El cuarto Foro LAC (América Latina y Caribe) sobre Política Fiscal se celebró el 3-4 de Julio en Ciudad de México. Sobre la base del diálogo iniciado en Panamá en 2010, continuado en Colombia en 2012 y en , el Foro de Mexico se ocupó de los siguientes temas:
- la economía politica de la reforma fiscal: factores y restricciones del proceso político para lograr reformas importantes, incluyendo ejemplos de éxito y otros más problemáticos;
- la Fiscalidad “verde” con una reflexión sobre las mejores prácticas y análisis de la OCDE e iniciativas en Ecuador, México y en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires;
- las mejores prácticas en la imposición sobre la extracción de recursos naturales, con contribuciones de CEPAL y el Banco Mundial, entre otros; y
- el papel de la politica fiscal en la reducción de la desigualdad, con una discusión muy reveladora sobre los instrumentos políticos para cerrar la brecha de la desigualdad.
