Ukraine Day
Ukraine's co-operation with the OECD started after the country's independence in 1991, and has been strengthening ever since. The OECD's Council's decision of 12 March 2014, in which OECD member countries decided to respond positively to Ukraine's request to benefit from OECD's expertise, marked a turning point in this collaboration.

The OECD held its first “Ukraine Day”, a high-level consultation which discussed how the international community can support Ukraine in meeting its policy challenges and implementing ambitious structural and institutional reforms. The event was attended by a number of distinguished participants, including Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and Aivaras Abromavičius, Ukraine’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade. Access the agenda Discussions centred around the implementation of the OECD-Ukraine Action Plan on Strengthening Co-operation with the Government of Ukraine, which was signed on 22 April 2015 during a visit to the OECD by Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko. Panel sessions were organised for the three priority areas of the Action Plan: reducing corruption and tax crimes, improving governance and the rule of law, and strengthening the investment and business climate.
