Continuous Reporting System on International Migration in the Americas (SICREMI)

‌ ‌

The Continuous Reporting System on International Migration in the Americas (SICREMI, its acronym in Spanish) aims to contribute to the monitoring of international migration movements in the region through rigorous and up-to-date information on migration flows. It also covers the principal policies and programs which the governments of the hemisphere direct towards an ever-growing migrant population, both in the countries of the Americas themselves and in the countries of destination to their emigrants.

The fourth report, launched on 18 December 2017, has been developed by the Organization of American States (OAS) in collaboration with the OECD. The SICREMI is modelled on the OECD’s Continuous Reporting System on Migration (SOPEMI, its acronym in French) established in 1973, which provides an information exchange mechanism to its Member countries through a network of national level correspondents which meets annually.
