G20/OECD Corporate Governance Forum

14 July 2022 Bali, Indonesia

The G20/OECD Corporate Governance Forum provided a platform for discussion among G20, OECD and Finacial Stability Board members on the ongoing review of the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. It built upon the work already undertaken on the review since its launch in November 2021, and informed the next steps of the process. Speakers included Indonesia’s Minister of Finance, Japan’s Minister of Finance and the OECD Secretary-General.

The G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance are the international standard for corporate governance. The Principles help policy makers evaluate and improve the legal, regulatory, and institutional framework for corporate governance. » More about the Principles

The review of the G20/OECD Principles aims to strengthen them by adapting relevant elements to the post COVID-19 environment, taking into account structural effects of the crisis on capital markets and corporate governance practices, as well as pre-existing trends. The revised Principles will aim to make the business sector more dynamic and resilient to future shocks, including by improving the management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives and risks, and to improve companies’ access to finance from capital markets. » More about the review in the OECD Secretary-General’s second progress report to the G20 (July 2022) and here
