Why work at the OECD

The OECD has a diverse and multi-cultural staff body, with colleagues from the 36 member countries as well as many others from key partner countries and from countries working with the OECD on regional initiatives. Staff coming from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds bring diverse viewpoints and experiences, and collaborate on a daily basis.

As an employee of the Organisation, you will have the opportunity to conduct and contribute to high-quality research and policy advice, helping the Organisation to achieve its goal of better policies for better lives, within a stimulating and challenging working environment.

The OECD mission

Providing high-quality policy advice, multi-disciplinary perspectives and peer-learning approaches, the OECD is a unique International Organisation which sets standards and defines best practices in almost every field of economic and social policy.

A hub for the discussion of global policy issues, the OECD interacts with governments, international organisations, parliamentarians, the business sector, trade unions, academics, media and NGOs, and in doing so leverages its position to build an unprecedented network of knowledge, based on a deep-rooted conviction about the benefits of multilateral co-operation.

An Inclusive Workplace

In the OECD’s efforts to contribute towards a fair and inclusive world, we first strive to provide a workplace where everyone feels that they belong. The OECD strongly believes that diversity and inclusion must go hand in hand to be successful.

A core strength of the Organisation is that its employees reflect the rich diversity across all its member countries. This in turn not only allows us to attract and retain the best talent from all cultures, identities and abilities across generations, but also creates a healthier and more productive organisation, which is associated with better decision-making, increased innovation and more relevant policy outcomes.

As an equal opportunity employer we welcome the applications of all qualified candidates who are nationals of OECD member countries, irrespective of their racial or ethnic origin, opinions or beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, health or disabilities. The OECD is also committed to promoting policies internally that ensure all staff within the Organisation feel they belong and can perform to their best capacity in a supportive and respectful working environment.

The OECD is Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) Certified and is actively participating in the Workplace Pride Benchmark Survey.
