Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, in Beijing on 10-12 September 2017


Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Beijing from 10 to 12 September 2017 at the invitation of Prime Minister Li Keqiang who was convening the Heads of the IMF, WB, WTO, OECD, ILO, and FSB to discuss the global economic outlook and how to continue advancing China’s development. The Secretary-General delivered remarks on “Challenges and Solutions for Globalisation” and on “The impact of scientific and technological advances and innovation on the transition of traditional industries and the development of new industries in China”.


While in Beijing, the Secretary-General presented a Policy Brief, Industrial Upgrading for Green Growth in China, alongside Mr. Li Wei, President of the Development Research Center of the State Council. During his visit, Mr. Gurría also held bilateral meetings with several Ministers and high-level officials from the People’s Republic of China.
