Welcoming Will Davis, New Head of OECD Washington Center

 

November 12, 2018 -- We are pleased to announce the appointment of Will Davis as the Head of the OECD Washington Center, effective immediately. Mr. Davis takes over from Susan Fridy who led the Center with distinction as Acting Head of Center over the last two years. Ms. Fridy resumes her role as Deputy Head of Center.

 

Mr. Davis will lead the OECD's public affairs and communication efforts across the United States and Canada while serving as a liaison to government departments and ministries that drive the work of the OECD. He will act as a resource to legislators and their staff, ensuring access to OECD data and experts, and will work with the broader policy community including partners in the private sector, organized labor, academia, think tanks, foundations, and the media.

Mr. Davis has extensive experience in the international affairs arena and for the past year has served as senior advisor to the OECD based at the Washington Center. During his tenure with the United Nations, Mr. Davis served as the Director of both the UN Development Program’s Washington Office and  the UN Information Center in Washington. In these roles, he was the UN’s key liaison with the U.S. Administration, Congress, and the wider Washington community.

 

No stranger to the OECD, Mr. Davis previously led public affairs outreach in Washington on behalf of the OECD and later served as Deputy Director for Public Affairs at OECD headquarters in Paris.

 

Mr. Davis began his career in the executive branch of the U.S. government, serving in the U.S. Department of State and the White House National Security Council, with other roles in the Executive Office of the President, Treasury Department, and the Department of Defense.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University and also earned his Master’s in Public Policy Studies from Duke. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
