Washington DC, USA – On April 7 2018, the American Society of International Law (ASIL) and OECD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will serve as a basis for future cooperation on issues ranging from anti-corruption and responsible business conduct, to cybersecurity and rule of law.

The MoU will enable the organizations to develop initiatives to deepen the participation of ASIL and its members in relevant OECD activities and promote the standard-setting role of the OECD among legal practitioners worldwide, thereby furthering the missions of the two organizations.

Signing the MoU together with ASIL President Lucinda Low in Washington, D.C., OECD Chief of Staff and G20 Sherpa Gabriela Ramos said “ASIL is an important partner in furthering the impact of OECD’s ongoing work on international legal norms. Thanks to this collaboration we will have the opportunity to cooperate more closely in the coming years.”

The two organizations have agreed to participate in fact-finding missions; publish joint reports; organize joint forums, workshops and seminars; and for ASIL to contribute to periodic reviews and updates of OECD instruments.
