Launch of the Economic Survey of the United States
Speakers
Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General, OECD
Mr. Kevin Hassett, Chairman, Council of Economic Advisers
Moderated by Mr. Greg Ip, Chief Economics Commentator, Wall Street Journal
The U.S. economy is growing steadily, unemployment is at near 20-year lows and well-being is high. While the legacy of the great recession, globalization, and automation shocks remain as challenges, the report also highlights positive recent developments in the US macroeconomic situation.
The latest OECD survey of the U.S. economy takes a broad look at the macroeconomic and well-being challenges faced by the United States, with a closer look at the economic costs of the opioid crisis, and the challenges of automation and globalization for the U.S. labor force.
Join us on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 for a presentation of the Survey's findings with OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, Chairman Kevin Hassett of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, and Greg Ip, Chief Economics Commentator for the Wall Street Journal.
