OECD Expert Briefing: Development Cooperation Report 2016

 

Join us on Tuesday, August 2nd for a presentation of the OECD's Development Co-operation Report 2016:  The Sustainable Development Goals as Business Opportunities.

Brenda Killen, Deputy Director of the OECD's Development Cooperation Directorate, and Haje Schütte, Head of the OECD's Development Finance Division, will present the report's findings by live video from OECD headquarters. The presentation will be followed by a discussion with a *panel of experts, including:

  • Shaun Donnelly, Vice President, Investment and Financial Services, US Council for International Business
  • Guido Schmidt-Traub, Executive Director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network
  • Beth Tritter, Vice President for Policy and Evaluation at the Millennium Challenge Corporation

This report, launched on July 18 at the UN High-level Political Forum in New York, examines the potential contribution of the private sector to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular through social impact investment, blended finance and foreign direct investment. It highlights the importance of responsible business conduct and outlines the challenges in measuring the mobilization effect of public finance on promoting private investment to achieve the SDGs.
