SWAC at Expo Milano 2015

The SWAC Sahel and West Africa Week will be held at Expo Milano 2015 from 26 to 30 October, coinciding with the final days of this momentous global event.

From May to October, Milan will welcome more than twenty million visitors at the universal exposition with the theme of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The Sahel and West Africa Week will be hosted within the European pavilion.

This special edition of the Sahel and West Africa Week will showcase West Africa’s successful experiences in the area of food and nutrition security, in particular the Food Crisis Prevention Network (RPCA) and the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR). The Week will stir debates on innovative approaches to food security in the region and beyond, with a special focus on gender and climate change.

Over the coming months, SWAC will engage in a large number of preparatory activities, including the development of strong collaboration and synergy with other actors of Expo Milano 2015. We particularly look forward to deepening our collaboration with SWAC Members and partners present at the Expo.
