Conference Information

This event which was hosted and organised jointly with the Korea Development Institute under the sponsorship of the Korean Government, was an opportunity to share major outcomes of the MRH project and associated others with a broad spectrum of policy makers from an international audience. It also introduced KDI’s parallel research on Korean reforms, which complemented the global nature of the OECD’s work by adding some meaningful country specific perspective and details.

The Conference began with expert seminars and workshops on Thursday 25 November 2010, where members of the KDI and OECD MRH project teams delivered their background papers for in-depth discussion and engaged in small group seminars and expert workshops.

On Friday 26 November 2010 EC President Mr. José Manuel Barroso opened this Meeting with a keynote speech. The Meeting consisted of three main sessions:

  • Fiscal Consolidation and Structural Reforms - Getting it Right (Actual Policy Dilemma's)
  • Making Global Cooperation Happen
  • How to reform and be re-elected
