Biographie Steven Schwartz

 


Professor Steven Schwartz is Vice Chancellor of Macquarie University. Born in New York, Steven completed post-graduate work at Syracuse University, then began an academic career which took him to the University of Illinois; University of Texas; University of Western Australia; University of Queensland and, as Vice Chancellor, Murdoch University. In addition to academic duties, Steven maintained a ‘second life’ as a journalist. Steven left Murdoch to take up the Vice Chancellorship at Brunel University in London, England.
In the meantime Steven was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, was an Academy of Science-Royal Society Exchange Fellow, a NATO Fellow, a WHO Fellow, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In addition to management recognitions (Prime Minister's Institutional Award, Premier's Award for Excellence - Public Sector Management, Telstra National Employer of the Year), Steven has also received numerous scholarly prizes and more than $1 million in research grants. He is the author of 13 books and more than 120 scientific articles.
