CIRET/KOF/OECD/INSEE Workshop

with a special focus on

The use of economic tendency surveys to assess potential growth and the position of economies in the business cycle

  13 - 14 November 2019 |  OECD Boulogne, Boulogne-Billancourt (Paris), France

Objective of Workshop

Timely and accurate estimates of the productive capacity of economies and their position in the business cycle are crucial for monetary policy, fiscal surveillance, as well as for choosing the appropriate mix of stabilisation and structural policies. In cooperation with KOF/ETH Zurich, OECD and INSEE, CIRET will organise a 1 ½-day workshop on the measurement of output gap, potential growth and productivity, with a focus on how economic tendency surveys can improve the accuracy of the corresponding estimates in real time. Submissions on this topic or related to the use of economic tendency surveys in general are welcome.
