On Monday November 30 and Tuesday December 1, at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris, the European Commission (EC) and the OECD will host the 7th Joint EC/OECD Workshop on recent developments in Business and Consumer Surveys.
The objective of the joint EC- OECD workshop is to foster harmonisation and promote the use of Business and Consumer Opinion Surveys. It also provides a forum to exchange knowledge and discuss the current challenges and prospects in the field. The workshop coincides with the EC's annual meeting with partner institutes in the Joint Harmonised EU Programme of Business and Consumer Surveys (BCS).
Attendance to the workshop is restricted to invited delegates, and subject to registration. Registration is closed.
The workshop will have three main sections:
Special Focus in 2015
For this edition of the workshop, we will focus particularly on research related to the relationship between quantitative surveys (Hard Data) and qualitative surveys (Soft Data). Are sample designs comparable? Do hard and soft data provide consistent information on the business cycle? Should hard and soft data be combined when predicting the future evolution of the business cycle? These are some of the questions we would like to have addressed during the workshop.
We welcome theoretical and empirical papers related either to the main sections of the workshop or to the special focus.
