OECD, Habitat III and a New Urban Agenda

UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development
17–20 October 2016 - Quito, Ecuador

This global summit reflected on urban development trends over the past 20 years and how these patterns are impacting on human development, well-being, and public governance systems worldwide.

The OECD has worked hand-in-hand with UN Habitat on National Urban Policies in preparation for this conference. Much of our work has been focused on getting meaningful data, and untangling the complex governance challenges that cities present.

This page highlights these challenges and offers guidance on how they may be overcome.
