The Economic Outlook presentation was followed by a high-level panel, featuring the OECD Secretary-General as well as the MCM Chair, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Mr. Anders Samuelsen, the MCM Vice-Chair, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment of Australia, Mr Steven Ciobo, as well as other Ministers (TBC).
This panel:
- examined the benefits of globalisation and how the current backlash against globalisation can be understood
- highlighted the global economic gains of globalisation and how productivity growth and job creation can be best enhanced with trade and international investment
- discussed the uneven benefits of globalisation across people, sectors, regions and localities in OECD countries and Partner economies
- debated how domestic policies, international policy making and cooperation can help make globalisation more inclusive and fairer
