This report reviews the quality of health care in Sweden. It begins by providing an overview of the range of policies and practices aimed at supporting quality of care in Sweden (Chapter 1). It then focuses on three key areas particularly relevant to elderly populations: strengthening primary care in Sweden (Chapter 2), better assurance for quality in long-term care (Chapter 3), and improving care after hip fracture and stroke (Chapter 4). In examining these areas, this report highlights best practices and provides recommendations to improve the quality of care in Sweden.

Ce rapport est le troisième examen environnemental du Mexique. Il évalue les progrès vers le développement durable et la croissance verte et met l'accent sur les politiques relatives au changement climatique, à la conservation de la biodiversité et des forêts.

Ce rapport s'appuie sur des travaux menés sous l'égide du Comité des politiques de développement territorial de l'OCDE, dans le but d'articuler un  ensemble de principes cohérents, flexibles et efficaces pour la gouvernance pluri-niveaux des investissements publics.

This book offers an overview on recent trends and policies in intergovernmental fiscal relations and sub-central government. Accessible chapters provide: insight into how sub-central governments are managing ongoing consolidation, as well as how fiscal decentralisation fosters economic growth and educational attainment; a balanced account of the virtues and limits of tax competition between jurisdictions; an overview of fiscal equalisation policy; and some fascinating background information about past tax and public service reforms.

The IEA Wind Power Technology Roadmap 2013 Edition recognises the very significant progress made since the first edition was published in 2009. The technology continues to improve rapidly, and costs of generation from land-based wind installations continue to fall. Wind power is now being deployed in countries with good resources without any dedicated financial incentives.

The 2013 Edition targets an increased share (15% to 18%) of global electricity to be provided by wind power in 2050, compared to 12% in the original roadmap of 2009. However, increasing levels of low-cost wind still require predictable, supportive regulatory environments and appropriate market designs. The challenges of integrating higher levels of variable wind power into the grid need to be addressed. For offshore wind, much remains to be done to develop appropriate large-scale systems and to reduce costs.

The 2013 Wind Power Roadmap also provides updated analysis on the barriers that exist for the technology and suggests ways to address them, including legal and regulatory recommendations.

Ce rapport condense les résultats clés analysés par l’OCDE concernant l’économie française. Dans l’ensemble il constate que sa productivité est élevée mais elle n’est pas assez dynamique pour maintenir de la croissance. En particulier, il suggère d’augmenter la recherche et l’innovation, de renforcer la compétition et de réduire les contraintes réglementaires pour rendre le secteur public plus efficace. Il propose de réformer la fiscalité pour promouvoir l’emploi et l’investissement, d'améliorer la performance du système éducatif et celui de la formation professionnelle, ainsi que le fonctionnement du marché du logement.

Produced by the International Social Science Council (ISSC) and UNESCO, and published by the OECD, the 2013 World Social Science Report represents a comprehensive overview of the field gathering the thoughts and expertise of hundreds of social scientists from around the world.This edition focuses on the transformative role of the social sciences in confronting climate and broader processes of environmental change, and in addressing priority problems from energy and water, biodiversity and land use, to urbanisation, migration and education.The report includes 100 articles written by 150 authors from 41 countries all over the world. Authors represent some 24 disciplines, mainly in the social sciences.The contributions highlight the central importance of social science knowledge for environmental change research, as a means of understanding changing environments in terms of social processes and as framework for finding concrete solutions towards sustainability.

How can citizens’ health and well-being be improved when public resources are limited? What practices allow hospitals and health clinics to get state of art medical equipment and medicine at the right price?The OECD Procurement Review of the Mexican State’s Employees’ Social Security and Social Services Institute (ISSSTE) looks at the public entity responsible for providing medical and social services to Mexican civil servants. It provides a comprehensive assessment of its procurement function and how to improve it in order to enhance the overall efficiency and transparency of the organisation and the quality of the services it provides.The review builds on the OECD Principles for Enhancing Integrity in Public Procurement, good practices of other health organisations as well as comparative data on public procurement in OECD countries.

Ce rapport fait la synthèse des expériences des pays de l’OCDE en matière d’élaboration et de mise en œuvre des politiques, des programmes et des initiatives en rapport avec la croissance verte dans le secteur agricole, en s’appuyant essentiellement sur les éléments communiqués par les pays. Le rapport examine l’approche globale adoptée par les pays pour élaborer une stratégie de croissance verte en agriculture ;  il aborde également la mise en œuvre du cadre de suivi des progrès vers la croissance verte en agriculture, élaboré par l’OCDE ; et  il examine les différents moyens d’action utilisés.Une conclusion principale est que si la plupart des pays se sont dotés de politiques articulées autour du concept de croissance verte, le degré d’ambition de leurs objectifs en la matière varie considérablement. Les pays de l’OCDE appliquent une large gamme d’instruments ainsi qu’un grand nombre de « panoplies de mesures ». La majorité d’entre eux ont défini des objectifs stratégiques couvrant un grand nombre de thématiques liées à la croissance verte, en particulier dans le domaine de l’amélioration de l’efficacité énergétique et de la réduction de l’empreinte carbone du secteur agricole. Un cadre d’action général cohérent, qui comprend des objectifs clairs et définit des priorités en matière de R-D ainsi que des mesures ciblées et mises en œuvre aux niveaux appropriés, sont essentiels pour établir une stratégie globale de croissance verte dans le secteur agricole.
