Le Luxembourg a entrepris des réformes législatives et institutionnelles importantes depuis son évaluation de Phase 3, en 2011, selon un nouveau rapport du Groupe de travail de l’OCDE sur la corruption. La réforme constitutionnelle entrée en vigueur le 1er juillet 2023 visant à renforcer et moderniser le statut des magistrats fait notamment partie de ces avancées.

The tax wedge for the average single worker in Luxembourg increased by 0.6 percentage points from 39.8% in 2021 to 40.4% in 2022. The OECD average tax wedge in 2022 was 34.6% (2021, 34.6%).

The OECD’s annual Revenue Statistics report found that the tax-to-GDP ratio in Luxembourg increased by 0.5 percentage points from 38.1% in 2020 to 38.6% in 2021. Between 2020 and 2021, the OECD average increased from 33.6% to 34.1%.

Luxembourg has one of the highest levels of alcohol consumption in the OECD – 12.9 litres of pure alcohol per capita per year, roughly equivalent to 2.6 bottles of wine or 5 litres of beer per week per person aged 15 and over.
