The International Economic Forum on Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the most prominent Europe based events devoted to Latin America. Every year, leaders from the public and private sectors as well as high-level representatives from international organisations gather to discuss different aspects of the continent’s economic development. In addition to analysing the region’s macroeconomic outlook, the 2018 Forum focused on how to re-build the state-citizens-market nexus, by strengthening institutions and making governments better able to respond to their citizen’s demands and achieve people’s well-being. Participants also discussed the importance of promoting a more inclusive and sustainable globalisation agenda to ensure LAC economies continue the economic recovery after a two-year contraction.
This event was a joint effort between the Inter-American Development Bank, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, and the OECD Development Centre.
