Towards renewed partnerships for sustainable development

Geopolitical tensions and uncertain global economic trends are casting shadows on development and environmental sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Economic growth remains weak, poverty is higher than a decade ago, and more than half of the workforce is still in informal employment.

The imperative of the green transition is an opportunity for the region to move towards more sustainable and inclusive models. But how can its economies attract more environmentally conscious investors? What policies can give impetus to the greener, strategic sectors? Will the 2023 global initiatives to reform the international financial architecture open access to new sources of finance and innovative tools?

The forum was
co-organised by the Development Centre of the OECD, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Agence Française de Développement, and takes place in the framework of the Semaine de l’Amérique Latine et des Caraïbes.

Watch the video of the 15th edition of the Forum, and explore the options with the top policy makers and investors shaping the region’s transition to more sustainable development.

  • The forum took place on Tuesday, 6 June 2023, at the OECD conference centre in Paris
