Moldova: Mid-term review workshop, 2 December 2016, Chisinau

 

 

The OECD organised together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova a multi-stakeholder workshop in Chisinau, Moldova, on the 02 December 2016.

Representatives of ministries, international organisations, researchers and youth representatives discussed the preliminary findings of the OECD Youth Inclusion country study to feed back into the project cycle. The discussions were centred on youth well-being, the institutional framework, social norms and gender health disparities, the recognition of youth workers, and the National Youth Survey “Youth in Moldova 2016”. Participants agreed on the need to generate political capital which would allow to improve the institutional framework of youth policies in Moldova.  Furthermore, the government should improve services provided to youth by regulating the youth sector and its workers, and acknowledge the different challenges young women and men face, especially in health.
