What is the PF4SD Week?

The Private Finance for Sustainable Development (PF4SD) Week is an annual OECD event that brings together relevant stakeholders from the public and private sector to discuss new approaches in using private finance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The "impact imperative" was the the main theme of 2019 conference and the conference was kicked-off with the launch of a new OECD report: The Impact Imperative for Financing Sustainable Development

The “impact imperative”- why this topic?

Achieving the SDGs will require us to put impact at the heart of development finance initiatives. This implies better measuring and monitoring of the end-results and thus impact of Blended Finance, Green Finance, and Social Impact Investment, and the effectiveness of private sector engagement through development co-operation.

About the PF4SD Week

The Week was organised by the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC). It began with a series of workshops and seminar sessions (15-17 January 2019), a Specialised Policy Dialogue on Effective Private Sector Engagement (16-17 January 2019) and culminated in a high-level Conference (17-18 January 2019).
