DAC Recommendation on Ending Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment in Development Co-operation and Humanitarian Assistance: Key Pillars of Prevention and Response

This recommendation sets out a first international standard in this area for governments to apply to national aid agencies when working with civil society, charities, and other bodies running development programs or delivering humanitarian aid. It should help countries become better equipped to improve systems to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct in the development sector, with a clear framework that puts survivors and victims first.

DAC Recommendation on Good Pledging Practice

The Recommendation encourages Adherents to introduce and maintain within their existing governance structures for policy coherence, a clear and integrated framework to promote policy coherence for development and translate political commitment on policy coherence for development into practice; and work towards assessment of the impacts that domestic policies may have on wider development efforts.

DAC Recommendation on Untying Official Development Assistance to the Least Development Countries and Highly Indebted Poor Countries

This Recommendation invites DAC members to untie their bilateral official development assistance to the Least Developed Countries as a means to foster co-ordinated, efficient and effective partnerships with developing countries; strengthen the ownership and responsibility of partner countries in the development process; demonstrate responsiveness to the requests from partner countries and others to increase the use of untied aid in order to promote aid effectiveness; and contribute to broader efforts with partner countries to promote their integration into the global economy.

DAC Recommendation on the Terms and Conditions of Aid

The Recommendation invites DAC members to extend their ODA commitments with an average annual grant element of at least 86% overall.

This Recommendation lays out the process of applying environmental assessment to development assistance projects and programmes at the feasibility study, planning and implementation stages and recommends an environmental checklist for decision-makers.
