In June 2022, the OECD held a roundtable on Disentangling Consummated Mergers – Experiences and Challenges, looking at remedial actions available to competition authorities when they have the power to review mergers, which they have reviewed and approved already ex ante, but later resulted in anti-competitive effects, and mergers that fell below notification thresholds and that resulted in anti-competitive effects once consummated.

In June 2022, the OECD held a roundtable on purchasing power and buyers' cartels. This roundtable explored how authorities approach issues relating to purchasing power, with a particular focus on buyers’ cartels.

In June 2022, the OECD held a roundtable on the concept of market power in the digital economy, looking at challenges related to assessing digital firms’ market power & some new concepts that have been proposed to capture specific digital competition concerns. It examined whether there are emerging divergences in jurisdictions’ approach to market power concerns, particularly given recent digital sector regulatory proposals.

In June 2022, the OECD held a Hearing on Thinking out of the Competition Box: Enforcement Co-operation in Other Policy Areas, continuing the work stream that was started with the 2021 OECD/ICN Report on International Competition Enforcement Co-operation, and the 2022 monitoring of the implementation of the OECD Recommendation on Co-operation in Competition Enforcement Proceedings.

Interim Measures in Antitrust Investigations

In June 2022, the OECD held a roundtable on Interim Measures in Antitrust Investigations. This Roundtable explored the principles and standards for imposing interim measures.
